The Campo Base Refuge and Campsite, in front of the rocky walls of the Castello-Provenzale and close to the Stroppia waterfalls is the ideal spot for hiking, trekking, mountain biking, climbing, ski-mountaineering, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, or simply for relaxing in the beautiful nature of the Maira Valley.
The Refuge. Stage point for the main international trails - GTA, Via Alpina, Tour of Chambeyron - and for the Percorsi Occitani footpath, the 15-stages hiking trip in Maira Valley, it disposes of double rooms with private bathroom and 4,6 or 8-beds dormitories. We are open from December 27th to the following October 31st and can be reached by car.
The campsite. The area lying beside the Maurin river accommodates tents and motorhomes on wide grassy pitches from mid-May to September.
The Restaurant. We propose a fresh and traditional cuisine, based on Occitan and Piedmontes recipes. We use local and seasonal products such as meat, cheese, flour, sausages and fish, served with the best regional wines and beers.
